A Look back at 2019.
2019 was a very busy and stressful year for us. but also one that brought a lot of joy and success. Read on as we take a look back at the good and less good of 2019.
The Good
Most of the year was taken up with planning, preparation and submitting documentation to obtain a visa to allow Racel to reside legally in the UK. This process started way back in April and would take us all the way up to December. Even though it was a very stressful time we still had lots to celebrate throughout the year.
We watched Major League Baseball in London.
The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox played the first Major League Baseball games outside of the US.
We got married.
At the beginning of August we got married with a small and simple ceremony. This was of course a very important step not just for the rest of our lives together but also for the process of obtaining a spouse visa for Racel.
We visited the Philippines.
During September we travelled to the Philippines for a holiday. This was the first time Racel went back in over 5 years and my first ever visit to the country. It also gave Racel the opportunity to see her kids for the first time in over 5 years. It wasnt just a holiday though as we also handed in the final application for her spouse visa in Manila. Racel had to remain in the Philippines to await the visa outcome while I (Mario) travelled back to the UK.
Racel got her spouse visa.
At the end of November we finally got the answer we were hoping for. The spouse visa as approved and Racel could return to the UK.
Racel finally arrived back in the UK.
On the 5th of December Racel finally arrived back in the UK to start her new life here.
The Less Good
There wasnt really anything bad that happened during the year but if we had to mention something that we are less than happy about it would be the following.
Our Youtube channel got neglected. Due to us being busy with the visa application, getting married, etc we really neglected our Youtube channel. This is something we hope to fix in the new year now that we are settled again.
